Frankly I think VT should try to emulate Clemson's fundraising campaigns
Pretty clear we don't have billionaires who will fund our athletics, so why not try to get as many grads to contribute anything they can, instead of trying to get them to contribute thousands. Would suspect many people look at those requests and think that's just too much money at this time in my life.
Why not ask recent grads who aren't currently Hokie Club members to contribute something nominal, like $20/month? If my VT calculus classes still serve me, that should add up to $240/year. What happens when 100K currently non-contributing Hokies become these minimal contributors? I think that adds up to an additional $24M/year.
What's better, having no additional revenue or an additional $24M/year? I'm asking for a friend...lol
