Great golf at both places.


As a MacDonald/Raynor fan, I'd pick the (restored) Old White at the Greenbrier. But the Cascades in Hot Springs is also one of William Flynn's best efforts, and is probably the best work of golf architecture in Virginia.

Ballyhack near Roanoke is a competitor for best in VA, but it's modern. A modern course has got to age a bit before we can assess its ultimate artistic value.
