NCAA gets a huge part of their funding from NCAA tournament tv contract

They will never ever do anything that will hurt that money since it is the main source of their salaries and perks. The NCAA does not have sufficient independence to actually provide governance and keep the schools in line.

The federal probe into college basketball hopefully also looks at the NCAA to see what they knew and what they did/didn't do about it.
