Ruling on "HBP"


Question for VTChip - The rule in college softball used to be that the hitter must attempt to get out of the way of the pitched ball. If no attempt was made the pitch would be called a ball or strike according to the pitch location. Has that rule been changed? I saw no attempt by Duke batters trying to avoid being hit by pitches.
