A huge Hokie thank you to those of you who donated items, and to those of you who are going to place bids. EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR raised in this auction will go into the softball program and I know all of you can appreciate the tough financial situation that all college teams are facing today.

I think we have a nice variety of items in the auction – cool memorabilia from the past and present, jerseys, gift cards, and experiences. We even have autographed softballs from every member of this year’s team as well as a very cool Jane Blevins print which all the ladies have signed. We even have reserved seats for the Notre Dame doubleheader on Saturday, April 24th so if you really, really want to go and don’t want to get there early, here’s your chance.

Please bid early and often. If you would like to touch/feel/examine any of the items, we will be holding a “preview” this Saturday at Tech Softball Park before the Georgia Tech game and between games of the doubleheader.

The auction will begin to end next Thursday, April 22nd at 7:00 with a lot closing every 45 seconds. Unlike some auctions, if another bidder tries to “snipe” you (placing a bid seconds before the bid closes), the closing of that particular item will be extended by two minutes.

Pickup of the items will be Saturday, April 24th before the Notre Dame game and between games of the doubleheader. If you’re out of town, don’t worry, we will ship you the items at a minimal fee. If you’re in the Roanoke/New River Valley area, I may even deliver to you personally - it’s that important to me.

So jump in! We need to show Coach D’Amour and the softball team just how much we support this program, even if all of us can’t attend the games at the moment.
