Well, if I knew the answer to that one, Pete would hire me...lol

And probably pay me big bucks!!!

Seriously, though, it's just a combination of things.

Our defense has been good, but not great. At a couple of inopportune times, we have made errors or not made the right decision with the ball. In the Clemson loss, we gave up 5 unearned runs. In the FSU and the Georgia Tech losses, we gave up 3 each time.

With NC State, we ran into a pitcher who threw the best game she's thrown all year (she currently has a 3.56 ERA). Against Louisville and Duke, we just didn't hit well.

Still, winning every single series is an accomplishment that shouldn't be taken lightly. Most coaches (including Pete) don't like single eliminations because it means that anyone can beat anyone on a given day. Series wins, (I think) mean you are the better team.

THe real positive is that this team has proven that they are very, very good.

I also think the loss of Fagan and Slaw have hurt us, but thank goodness for the depth we do have. I think both of them wil be back very soon.

Let's Go Hokies!
