No I am curious about this.
A share of stock is a piece of ownership in a company. They have hard assets, IT, cash on hand, etc in a fire sale. Lots of forms of value even when the markets tank. That’s why folks jump in and buy when the house is on fire and others are running away.
I am curious to know what folks think crypto’s intrinsic value is. I am always open to investing in things that trade below their intrinsic value. I just can’t seem to find anyone who can tell me what the intrinsic value of crypto is or how I can calculate it.
Crypto isn’t really a currency so you can’t value it as one. It’s more volatile than any developed country currency in the world. It’s a concentrated market with the largest holders creating massive swings. It’s most frequent use is in crime and money laundering. I can’t buy a cup of coffee with it. I certainly wouldn’t allow my employer to pay me with it. Nor would I borrow against it or even want any of my bills to be based on it.
It’s heralded as a traceable currently, yet every time it disappears or is stolen it isn’t recovered.
The technology behind it is great. And that has and will be incorporated into the financial markets for years. Lots of patents already in place.
I just don’t know what the intrinsic value of crypto is or how to even calculate it.
