It's a hedge against your dollars becoming worthless

What's the dollar really backed by? The good faith of the US Gov't, that's it. Nothing else.

You realize what qualitative easing means, right? It means the Treasury borrows money, issues bonds, and those bonds are paid for by the Federal Reserve. Where does the FR get the money to buy them? It's updates it's computer system to say it has it. It's just made up.

Money is a construct. It's not real.
