Central HVAC will impact the whole house.


But if you're sitting in your living room and don't care what the temp is the bedroom is, you tell the Ecobee to manage the HVAC off the temp in the living room. HVAC will come on and off depending on what temp it is there and the rest of the house will be whatever it is if the temp in the living room is set to 72.
