Yes, both. They were OK


One was a direct remake of the book, it just felt forced. I didn't like the imagery either, had too much of the feel of a rave. Children of Dune was decent.

I have the original "Directors Cut" of Dune on VHS somewhere in my parents basement, had the 30 minute prologue to get folks up to speed on exactly what Dune was, kinda like a slideshow or powerpoint presentation.

I really enjoyed the original movie and pop it out at least a couple of times a year. Yes, it could have been so much more, but I really think that they were limited by the technology of the time and did the best they could. The "Wierding Way" begin replaced by technology was a bit of a letdown (after reading the book), but I think it fit within what they were trying to accomplish.
