Hard to beat Band of Bros.

I don't know what company he was, but I had a diagonal neighbor who knew all the Easy Company guys in the series. His son told me, but I forgot... he may have been Bravo, India, Charlie, whatever... But that series was his story. Everywhere they went is where he was and when.

The son told me his dad still woke up with nightmares. Nope, not the battles. Not the jump into France. Not Bastogne. It was finding the concentration camp. He never got over that.

He's been gone now for quite some time. Great guy. Great neighbor. I never knew any of his story until he was convalescent, and his son told me. By then, my buddy Ray was fraying at the edges, 90-ish. Holy cow. He even had a Berchtesgaden nazi flag as a momento in the attic.
