Yes, humans are pretty terrible. And the farther we get away from morals and societal norms, the worse off we are (IMO, of course). So while social media may not be the slide itself that's taking us to hell, it is the grease that is accelerating the trip. The small percentages of vocal extremists never had a worldwide platform before social media became widely adopted. Now they can spread their insane ideas like wildfire.
