Good catch! Upon further review, I don't think it was the marijuana that did him in. The Tampa Bay article noted that he missed two bowl games for unknown reasons and a Florida Gator rivalry game for a violation of team rules. The weed arrest that is public knowledge was Nov 2018 and he played during the 2019 season. He was kicked off the team during July 2020 for violating team rules. He was also suspended for a rivalry game. He needs to go to Last Chance U. It sounds like he had plenty of chances at FSU before they booted him.

His FSU tenure also included multiple off-field incidents. He was suspended for last year’s game against the Gators for violating team rules and wasn’t with the team during the 2017 Independence Bowl. He also did not participate in last season’s Sun Bowl defeat and was cited for marijuana possession in late 2018.
