I did a long planned swap out of an old car for a new car. The old car sold

with no effort at $6k where the blue book was under $4k. The new car (comparing MSRP which I know isn't the whole story nor what I paid, but it's all of the data I have from pre-covid), was less than $1k more. Maybe the price we settled at was a bigger jump, but it seems to have worked out in our favor.

It seems like a good time to do that kind of swap, if the new car is sitting on the lot at the right price.
