I didn't think it likely that England would fare well in PKs. If anything I was impressed by Pickford's saves.

But Southgate was obviously able to execute his game plan at the end (although the substitutions weren't exactly seamless). Will be interesting to see how British sport press push him -- or whether they are already shifting focus to Qatar.
