The Pac-12 will never be a "super conference" because of their isolation


Neither the SEC nor the B1X wants to poach a P12 team because of logistics.

Now one thing that hasn't been mentioned is an alliance between the ACC and P12 to get to that 3rd "super conference." Have the champions meet the first weekend in December for the "alliance" championship.

Can the ACC become a "super conference" alone? The answer is yes, but no one other than Clemson is ready to step up. VT is down. F$U stinks. Miami suffers from "premature backulation." (1) The ACC needs all three to be permanent residents in the "top 20" again, with at least one in the top 10 every year. It doesn't have to be the same school, but we need to get back to football prominence. (2) ND joining would solidify the football side of the house. Achieve both and we will gain "super conference" status.

Unfortunately the odds of #1 happening aren't great in the near term, and I just don't see #2 happening anytime soon.

We can only hope the ACC's bones will not be picked clean by the SEC & B1X before achieving "super conference" status.
