January 1995 I believe was the Great Midwest Conference, not C-USU,


although that probably morphed into C-USA, so maybe it’s a technicality. Still, that particular move is the one that gives me most pause. It set a precedent of basically kicking members out. With this 12 team playoff, I can see the SEC picking off the likes of Clemson, FSU, UNC, and others. UNC and UVA could also be B10 targets.

Clearly all this stuff is predetermined in smoke-filled rooms and under the cover of night. It could conceivably leave us in our conference looking a lot like the old BEFC.


Edit: sorry to be pessimistic - except for about a decade in the ACC, conference realignment has not been good to us.
