How/where I lost it wasn't really pertinent to the problem of replacing it, but I lost it at Carowinds. I'm thinking on the Nighthark coaster, which lays you fully back, then inverts so you are just hanging by a shoulder harness over a small lake for most of the ride. Pretty sure the keys fell out of my pocket when the ride layed back, then fell off the seat into the water once the coaster got moving.

I retraced my steps, asked lost and found, and asked every attendant near where I thought I could have lost them, all with no luck. I filled out the lost and found form, but had pretty much lost hope at that point.

Just now, I got a text alert that they found it and will ship it back to me for $14. Better than the $190 for a new fob.

They mentioned park personnel do a sweep search of the fenced areas under the coasters each morning and will turn in keys and wallets that they find. Must've gotten blindly lucky that it landed in the grass and not the water.
