I don't see the ACC making enough additional $ to cover all the additions


I would be all for it if so.

In a football-only arrangement with the ACC, the remaining Big 12 members might make less than when UT and OU were in the league, but more than they would make if the conference continued on its own. Maybe it would be a case where some of that money ESPN and Fox were paying to the old Big 12 gets split up amongst the remaining members plus the ACC. I'm not really sure how contract (re)negotiations would work in a football-only setup though.

It really sucks for the remaining Big 12 schools plus the top G5 programs because they all deserve (IMO anyway) to be in a P4 or P5 conference. They just don't have a name-brand (Texas, Ohio St, etc) to be the headliner for the league.

I think schools like Cincinnati, UCF, BYU, USF, Houston, Memphis, maybe some of the MWC members, could all be competitive in a premier conference given the opportunity. All six of those mentioned are in either in a large city or have a national following (BYU).
