Question - Shane Beamer Love - Historical Alum Success

Ok...just throwing this out there on a 'dead' Sunday night. But I see some post about Shane and his win, which is great. And we've all seen posts to bring him back as a HC here. But, that got me thinking....that is typically a recipe for disaster - not only son of HOF Head Coach, but just as an ALUMNI.

Aside for Kirby Smart, it just doesn't work most of the time. Steve Spurrier did it...I'm probably missing some others, but it rarely works. Wonder why? Is it poor translation of equitable, resulting skills from player to coach? Expectations? Or they just jumped to the head of the interview process based on mediocre performance (passable) but name recognition with donors??

I would absolutely LOVE to see Shane succeed, and if so as a proven HC, would LOVE to see him come back at some point and lead us to the promised land. But as a Dad....I gotta say if Frank is giving him advice, he would tell him to stay put, build that program up, and win a natty or move to a team that has more recruiting and financial support.

If he has that ability, that is.....food for thought
