B1G built parity into their schedules years ago.


Back when they had 10 teams and played 8 games, they would rank their teams every two years and make the top team's schedule the hardest and the bottom team's the easiest (the top did not play the worst team). #1 did not play #10, #2 did not play #9, etc. I assume there was some practical adjustments, but the idea was to build some parity into the schedules. 1990 and 1989 Michigan did not play Northwestern because of this. I went to several Michigan games during that time and at least that is what people told me back then. I attended one of the Mich/Maryland games, Ohio State, and Michigan State. Good times. The Ohio State game was rocking,

We could try something like this in the ACC (2 year span, top performing team in each division must play the other division's top performing team for 2 years, etc.).
