Sure there will always be exceptions


But baseball really only cares that the big market teams are always good and competitive - and the money is stacked in their favor. The rest of the league is just filler.

Every couple of years a team like KC or the Nats will pop up. TB and Oakland have been the best at creating a model for long term success at lower spending levels.

But as long as there is no hard cap, the money will allow the big market teams to dominate.
