Update...and it's sad


Sorry, I never pursued anything like this until now:

Capital One - stayed on hold 20 minutes with fraud department, for them to basically tell me the account was bogus, and I had to produce a bunch of documentation to even pursue

Local PD - don't care....we don't deal with that...email the attorney general. We tell folks to rip up the checks and just move on

I get it...It's a huge problem...but there seems to be no recourse for citizens trying to help other citizens from avoiding more scams....
