Assuming Boise State leaves the MWC and joins the Big XII, then that means the MWC would have an odd number of members. Who does MWC add to fill that spot or does the MWC kick 1 member out to get back to an even number? If the MWC wishes to continue to play a conference championship game in football, then those would be the MWC's only options.
