I meant it to mean that enough of the fan base may be too fixated on the past that they forget the game is constantly changing and evolving as time marches forward. A reason the Triangles franchise eventually folded in 1929 even after becoming an exclusive traveling team is because the organization couldn't keep up with the changing times.
