That’s a great anecdote.


Now do one of the hundred coaching changes that moved nothing forward or even hurt a program. If you’re going to rely upon anecdotal evidence, at least acknowledge you’re purposely selecting an anecdote that supports the conclusion you want to reach — that a coaching change would be good.

I mean, just look at Tennessee when they let go of Fulmer. He was winning 9-10 games per year (with a couple of bad years sprinkled in).

He was fired and Tennessee was wandering in the wilderness for over a decade.

I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t change our coach. I’m simply saying anecdotes can be shown to prove anything.
