SB’s salary is among the lowest three coaches in all of the P5. However, their assistant salary pool is $5-5.5 Million and they’ve indicated there is room to go higher if needed.. ours is a paltry $3.17 Million.

Head coaches live or die in large measure based on their assistants. Tech gets what they pay for. USCe is betting that a bigger salary pool will translate into higher quality assistants and will help Beamer be more successful.

Their football building is nice as hell and definitely nicer than what we have. Virtually every single football facility ranking article has South Carolina ranked in the Top 5 or Top 10 in the country in nicest football facilities. Those things do matter to 17-18 year olds.

Their stadium is larger (#19 in the country). They generate more athletic revenue (#20 in the country, VT is #38). Their alumni donate to their athletic dept at much higher levels than VT alum. In terms of athletic department donor support, VT ranks 9th in the ACC. SCar athletic donations are over $10 Million more per year than VT.

VT fans expect a top 10-15 program but we only provide total resources among the lowest quartile of the 65 programs in the P5. SCar is a better job with better facilities and better resources, although the path to conference success is much more difficult there.
