It is easy to be good defensively with the best talent. Take a look at the top 20 in KenPom defensive efficiency. Outside of San Diego State and Seton Hall its a bunch of schools who can recruit at a very high level.

His teams are long and athletic and their basketball acumen can cover up mistakes.

Whats not easy is teaching those kids how to score against a scheme. And its not like theyve been average at it. Theyve been horrible. With SIXTEEN kids in 4 classes who are better than all but 3 kids VT has recruited during the same time period.

Spin it all you want, but he gets top talent and does nothing with it.
