5 good reasons.


1) He can recruit - 12 9 9 14 2018-2021. I think VT has a recruiting ceiling, but if we're going to pretend that a young HC with no experience (Huff) can come here and recruit, you can't say that Mullen won't be able to.
2) He has tons of experience. He knows what he is doing; his systems are developed and he has relationships with coaches all over.
3) He's played against the best teams and coaches in the country - not G5.
4) He knows what it is like to coach a P5 team with expectations.
5) His record at Mississippi state was one of being able to develop players. They got talent, but not the same talent as at Florida. At VT he will be able to develop the players he gets, which has been missing the last 6 years.
