He did start well

A couple things happened.

We shifted focus in recruiting to lean more toward offense and got some skill guys that looked good on paper but did not materialize. So the resources were wasted and offense and defense suffered.

Then Fu realized he needed better and Texas happened. He said he was reluctant but promising early returns sucked them in deeper. Then that fell apart and a few TX2VT hashtags hurt the feelings of the local high school coaches.

The last ditch effort with a recruit focused defense seemed to be working but was too little too late.
