Storm looks bad because of how bad Aluma and to some extent Mutts have been
Aluma has been worse than awful this year, he's a -/- defender and because of Storm's outside threat Aluma never gets doubled on offense like last season yet his efficiency is in the tank because he can't make a layup. When he misses he just bitches at the refs instead of fighting on the other end. He's also playing no help defense which is necessary for our style and when he does the weak side (other than Cattoor) defender never rotates down, he's always visibly frustrated about it.
Mutts went from being a potential 3/4 swingman that was a matchup nightmare last year to a guy who is basically 3 & D because he forgot how to dribble. He make Bacot and Sharpe looks foolish in the UNC game, yet Khadim Sy made him look inept against Wake.
The offense has significant potential, and Storm is so far and away more of a threat than Bede that everyone else's potential is much higher. Maddox and Ojiako need to play a lot more because they've shown some ability to score and rebound with their size.
We struggled so much with Wake's size that we played Mutts-DNG-Aluma for a long stretch and the offense went nowhere. Storm has actually been creating a lot of opportunities, go back and watch his distribution against Wake and how many open looks we passed up off them and the mismatches he created.
