I was not/am not all that concerned about myself. I'm basically healthy

with none of the underlying risk factors that make it particularly deadly (obesity, diabetes, anxiety disorders, COPD, compromised immune system, etc). Pretty good chance if/when I get it, I'll feel like crap for a week and that's it.

But, my parents are in their 80's. I know an awful lot of diabetics. I live in rural Virginia, so I'm going to be around obese people even if I do avoid shopping at Wal-Mart. Seems like half of all the people I know over the age of 65 have a CPAP machine at home.

So I got the vax to (a) protect others and (b) to hopefully get us to where a large enough portion of the population was vax'd so we could put this behind us. So far, so good on (a), but (b) sure seems to be a perpetually moving target.
