Pretty sure Ryan Leaf is not overrated at all as an NFL QB


Overrated as a draft pick? Sure. But I'm not aware of a single person who thinks he was a great, good, average, or even a below-average NFL quarterback when looking at his actual NFL accomplishments. He was bad, and that's the consensus. Kinda hard to be overrated when no one thinks you were any good.

And even if we were talking about overrated draft picks, JaMarcus Russell says Hold My Beer.

Pretty sure JayLaw's point is that Namath is widely considered to be a very good QB in the history of the NFL, yet any scrutiny of his career doesn't back that up. For some reason, people like Doug Williams or Trent Dilfer are known for having a great game or being on a great team, but are hardly considered historically great quarterbacks, while Namath is.
