Iron Man is dead. Thor is off-world. Banner isn't Hulk anymore. Cap went back in time and is now old. Scarlet Witch has trapped herself in TV Land. Vision is dead. Black Widow is dead.

About all you've got are Falcon, Hawkeye, and Bucky Barnes...hardly what you bring in for calamity-level problems.

Definitely agree the story has problems, some casting decisions were odd, and they were introducing WAY too many new characters for one film to be able to handle. But the "where were the Avengers" question is one there is an answer for. Heck, "where are the Avengers" is the entire plot of Spider Man - Far From Home.
