An interesting sidelight


Is that 33 years ago the recipient stabbed a guy, and spent some time in prison. The victim suffered quite a bit due to the stabbing and had long-term health effects and died young.

The victim's family is a bit upset that the stabber was chosen as the recipient of this life saving treatment, saying he isn't deserving. Doctors say they just do what they can to save each patient and don't consider such factors. Their job isn't to mete out justice.
