a tie. Soccer is maybe a decent analogy for baseball because it is hard to score. Give extra time that is reasonable to try to reach a conclusion, say 4 innings, then they do something fun and interesting to decide the game. Home run derby, fastballs only, bunts only, i'm sure something could be come up with. Ultimately if a game is tied that long, the two teams are equal on that day and at that location. How about they call it a tie and replay the game elsewhere. I think its a thing that is hard to get right and there is plenty of room for debate but IMO NFL choses the worst possible solution given how good the rest of the sport is as a whole. They could do much better and draw more eyes if they wanted.
