Any chance she’d be interested in the Marching Band?

Among the state schools (IU, Ball St and Purdue), Purdue is the one that does not have formal music degrees but that doesn’t mean they don’t take their marching band seriously. Remember the hub bub in the news this past football season when Notre Dame’s tunnel was too small for Purdue’s drum?

A friend of ours will be a senior with the band this next fall and it has been an awesome experience for him. One specific advantage was that he went to campus in the middle of summer before his freshman year and made all kinds of relationships through the band (across academic years, majors, etc.) before taking his first class.

If this happens to be something your daughter was interested in, I’m sure I could find out the process for applying and get that to you, and set up a phone call with our friend (the rising senior).
