KD is doing a magnificent job of taking our program from the brink of extinction to a National powerhouse is a very short amount of time. The transformation and the amount of increased interest in the sport at VT has been phenomenal. It will take as much work or more to take the next step to stay on top and form a piepline of highly rated recruits and assistants to VT and the SERTC but I think KD has shown he is up for the challenge. It will also take a community of dedicated VT followers to help continue to build support for the program. If the VT community can rally around the wrestling program the way they have done for football, the sky is the limit. There is no more fiercely loyal and enthusiastic fanbase than Virginia Techs anywhere in the country and I look forward to that dynamic spilling over into wrestling on a massive scale. I was amazed at the turnout of VT fans to the George Mason match and the ACC tournament this year. I have been going to all the matches held in NOVA/DC/Maryland for years and the increase in turnout to away matches has been unbelievable. The VT fans outnumbered the GMU fans 3-1 at the dual this year...
