Winning an individual title is so damn hard: it's one man versus one man, typically against other guys who have been ID'd as top tier since they were 13 or 14 years old. So this isn't like the Villanova BB team playing collectively just a bit better than UNC. It's more like playing one-on-one with LeBron James. Yet as hard as that sounds, we have 3-4 guys now who could find themselves in finals next year with that shot to win. And as consistently good as the team has become, this could start to become the norm rather than the exception for VT.

The team championship is more about having a National level team from top to bottom, and Dresser, Robie, and the others have pushed the team dramatically in that direction. Then everyone has to perform to the best of their abilities at the tournament - while we hope for a hiccup or two from other elite teams - and it could happen. There's no playing in that top 3 category without top flight talent, and Tech is very likely there to stay for a while. PSU has a powerhouse roster right now, with second string wrestlers who could beat most other teams. It will take a lot to beat them and OSU over the next two years. But there's no reason to think Tech won't be one of the teams pushing them hardest.
