So is your Merkur not a double edge?

What model Merkur did you get? I'm tired of spending $8 / disposable blade that lasts about 3 shaves before dulling, so hook me up with the info!

I bought a strait razor as an impulse buy while in NYC, and I either need to have it professionally honed, or learn how to use a strop properly, or it just is a sucky quality blade. Can't get it to remove any hair at all!
