I come from a blue collar town where tons of people still smoke

at the risks of losing their great paying factory job.

Why? I have no friggin idea.

I do know two people who exclusively smoke weed vs. alcohol.

1) Person A - she had alcohol problems early in her youth. She dropped the alcohol, but not the weed. She is successful and a great mother in her fifties. She has been alcohol free for over 3 decades.

2) Person B - She does not like the feel of alcohol and her father was an alcoholic.

I seen people go cold turkey on tobacco and weed. My life experience observing others is that weed is easier to stay away from.

I not sure I would claim it is not addictive.

In the old days, it was hard to quit smoking because when you went into a bar the tobacco smoke was thick, but nobody has ever gone into a bar where the weed smoke is thick.

There are people who think it should be legal and are willing to lose their jobs based on principle. That is their choice whether PHX understands or agrees with that concept.

Alcohol was illegal in the US and people did not quit. They were not alcoholics, but just felt that on their principles it should not be illegal and continued. Hey, we got Nascar from those days (:>) and eventually the US made it legal again.

I am a fiscal conservative, but pretty liberal on other things. PHX is entitled to his opinion and am not surprised there are some having counter points to his comment.

The problem is PHX comes across righteous whether he means it or not. The threads with him are always long even when talking about football.
