I remember one time when I was attempting to visit him at his office in Richmond. Despite an appointment with me, he was "too busy in meetings" to free up time. So I kept coming back and noticed that he was in fact in his office. So I waited by the door. After a couple of hours, I looked down the hall (he was House Majority leader at the time) and saw him slithering out a secret back door of his office. So I stalked him all the way to the toilet. I stood outside his stall and told him a few points that I wanted to get across before exiting. I'm not even sure he knew who I was. I was younger and more shy than I am now.

A few years later, I published a newsletter for my organization that was critical of some of his decisions related to education. A day later, he called my school and got them to drag me out of my classroom so that he could "set the record straight."
