This dual meet looks like a dog fight and that's putting it mildly. The results of a few potential swing matches will decide this dual. Cornell beat Lehigh last week primarily because they got a couple of falls that swung the dual. Breakdown using NWCA Coaches Poll as follows:

125 lbs: #2 Joey Dance vs. #7 Darian Cruz. Dance gets it done but probably not a major. VT 3 Lehigh 0.

133 lbs: #26 Dennis Gustafson vs. #9 Scott Parker or UR freshman Joe Lobeck. If he goes, Parker wins this (I may revise later this week if Lobeck has to wrestle for Lehigh). Who wrestles could decide the dual. SWING MATCH #1. VT 3 Lehigh 3.

141 lbs: UR Brendan Ryan vs. #13 Randy Cruz. Cruz anywhere from MD to fall. I will go with the TF. VT 3 Lehigh 8.

149 lbs: #7 Solomon Chishko vs. #9 Lake Gardner. Toss up and made difficult by Sully's recent stomach ailment. Will go with Gardner. SWING MATCH #2. VT 3 Lehigh 11.

157 lbs: #16 Sal Mastriani vs. #4 Jordan Kutler. Kutler takes this one. VT 3 Lehigh 14.

165 lbs: UR David Bergida vs. #19 Cole Walter. Walter by MD.
VT 3 Lehigh 18

174 lbs: #2 Zack Epperly vs. #5 Ryan Preisch. Big battle and a must win for Hokies. Late TD for Zach for win. SWING MATCH #3. VT 6 Lehigh 18

184 lbs: #5 Zack Zavatsky vs. #25 Kyle Gentile. ZZ wins, VT 9 Lehigh 18.

197 lbs: #3 Jared Haught vs. #28 Ben Haas. Haught wins. VT 12 Lehigh 18

HWT: #3 Ty Walz vs. #16 Doug Vollaro, Ty wins. VT 15 Lehigh 18.

Above reflects each team winning 5 matches but bonus points swing the difference. At some point, the bonus points VT is giving up at 141 and 165 had to matter. Maybe it is this Friday but I had Lehigh winning 2 of 3 swing matches. Swing one back and VT wins.
