I know exactly what you mean.

The other bad things I notice about the driving in NOVA are the following:

1. A vehicle is in the right turn lane (2 lanes) and decides it now wants to go straight when the turn light changes green. So it holds up traffic in 1 or both turn lanes while waiting for that vehicle to merge back into the traffic going straight.

2. A vehicle decides it wants to use an exit lane to pass traffic and try to merge back into traffic right as the lane is veering off from the road. It amazes me how many drivers choose to ignore that bright yellow sign hanging underneath a giant green sign that says "Exit Only."

3. Vehicles that want to exit and do so before the exit lane officially forms. Instead of waiting until they get up to where the exit lane starts, they decide to drive along the shoulder of the road or over pavement with white markings to indicate that vehicles are prohibited from driving in this area.

4. When 2 lanes are merging into 1 lane the vehicles in the lane that is ending will usually either continue where no lane exists or speed up to cut in front of vehicles already in the lane that will continue instead of trying to merge in with traffic.

5. Then probably my personal favorite; the "NOVA Turn." It is when a vehicle in the left lane decides it wants to turn right or on some rare occasions a vehicle in the right lane decides it wants to turn left. It usually involves cutting across at least 1 lane and sometimes at least 1 turn lane.
