^^Sheesh - ding ding ding - we have a winner^^ Yes, I'm a dumbarse.

But I've now passed my DIY electrical assistant apprentice equivalency troubleshooting exams.

And wasted an extraordinary amount of the Lounge's EBTT (electrical brain trust time).

The old wires out of the junction box in the kitchen ceiling were so short, I added a foot of additional wire to each of the b/w leads. This was so I could hang them thru the access hole in the fixture as I lined it up overhead on the toggle bolts in the ceiling.

Because I'm a dumbarse and have to do stuff like this unaided.

The white wire lead had untwisted and dislodged from the wire nut. When rewired correctly, we had four bulbs a-glowin'.

Thanks to all for shedding some light (hahahahahahahaha) on my problem, all
because I'm a dumbarse and have to do stuff like this unaided.

Sounds like you need to test with a volt meter -- 76 B210 07/23/2017 08:18AM
Yes, time to check voltage at the fixture. -- MP4VT2004 07/23/2017 09:13AM
