Have you seen the flags of Liberia and Malaysia? Uruguay?


Those countries all have flags similar to our own.

How about Ireland and Cote d' Ivoire? They're mirror images of one another.

Germany and Belgium have the same flag, rotated 90 degrees.

The point is, it's not desecration to change the colors of a flag or add a logo to it. Doing so changes the flag. It's not our national banner anymore, but a new flag altogether. I say let it fly.
