Agreed -- this is a fight between the headhunter and the company


Doesn't involve you at all. Keep yourself neutral when talking to both and tell them it's something out of your hands. The headhunter likely has some sort of policy or written agreement with the firm that spells out this kind of situation -- when they get paid and when they don't.

Personally, I think if the company had called you as a result of the blind ad, they'd have a case. But they used the headhunter to narrow things down, so I think they owe something.

But that's not a HokieNLot11 problem at all.
