We could haze wildlife if there was a danger to them or a person but taking an animal (even a Coastal Brown Bear/Polar Bear, wolf, wolverine or moose) is forbidden unless it's extreme danger. The documentation of the event is extreme.

In the case of a Polar Bear only an Inuit could take one down, so in the winter out on the ice or close inland we always had an Inuit technician with us, with the 10 gauge shotgun.
