Why keep SALT? What is the principle to not change it?


I would eliminate completely. Genuine question why should state taxes be deducted from federal tax burden when almost all of federal budget is SS, Medicare, Medicaid and Defense?

Simpson Bowles would have stopped this, but there is no political will in Washington to refine entitlements unfortunately
