Landlord usually has to make some improvements due to wear & tear. Thus, if you can commit to a longer lease & stress that you will be able to give them a substantial notice as to when you will eventually move out that would be appealing to the landlord. When it’s time to make a decision find your best options & tell the landlord you need to know or you’re moving on & be willing to live with your choice.
